Set up public booking

Build a branded business page, control online appointments, and choose what customers can see.

In this guide

Set up your website

  1. Open Booking Site in the app menu. Overview shows saved online-booking status and essential setup checks. Follow each remaining check to the relevant setting.

  2. Open Design and choose Clean, Editorial, Immersive, Studio or Compact. Immersive is selected for new clinics. Each template handles the layout, typography, spacing and button style.

  3. Personalise your colours, logo, photos and text. Use the Customize your booking website article for palette overrides, content visibility, cover framing and featured services.

  4. Use Preview to compare Desktop and Mobile sizes for the Business page and Booking flow. Preview includes unsaved changes and cannot create appointments or payments.

  5. Use Business information for your address, contact details and About text. Use Team and Services for staff profiles and the bookable catalogue.

Configure booking requirements

  1. Open Booking rules to choose automatic confirmation or staff approval, required email or phone, and Verify mobile number. Open Policies for the acknowledgement requirement.

  2. Add cancellation, privacy, and terms text before requiring policy acknowledgement.

  3. If online deposits or full payment are required, complete Stripe payout setup before requiring online payment.

  4. Enable customer online payments in Settings before using required deposits or full payment in the public booking flow.

  5. Use the Online booking switch in Overview to let clients choose a service and time. When it is off, both links remain available and show a contact-the-business message.

Enable and share booking

  1. Copy the public business page for a complete profile, or use the services-only booking link for a Book now button on your own website.

  2. Open Share site to copy labelled Instagram, Facebook, campaign or print links. Download booking QR code creates a PNG image for printing.

  3. Open Reports and review Booking channels after clients begin using shared links. Schedmo records campaign labels and referring domains without advertising cookies or cross-site personal tracking.

  4. Test the full client flow from service selection to confirmation before adding the link to your website, social bio, or campaigns.

  5. Each public appointment books one service as one atomic operation. Selecting a different service replaces the current choice; packages begin with one included service so a failed step cannot leave a partial multi-service booking or multiple checkout sessions.

Review the client journey

  1. On the confirmation screen, verify Add to calendar, directions, Book another, Sign up for client portal, and Log in to client portal. The client actions must open the personal client experience, never the clinic staff workspace.

  2. Create a client account from the confirmation using a non-staff email. Confirm the booking name and email are privately prefilled, an existing account is directed to sign in, and the verified account links to the correct business.

  3. When payments are enabled, test one successful and one cancelled Stripe checkout. Both must return to the existing held appointment; verified success changes it from Payment Pending to Booked, cancellation says nothing was charged, and neither path creates a duplicate appointment. Confirm an expired payment releases the time.

  4. Service-linked forms are created after booking confirmation so clients can finish booking first, then complete forms online, from their portal, or on site.

  5. Clients review their appointment and payment amounts before confirming. A single eligible provider is selected automatically. When verification is enabled, clients can paste the six-digit code. An expiring draft in the same tab can restore selections and contact details after refresh; notes and consent must be entered again.
